Gold Mine
The visit to the 18th-century gold mine is one of the most remarkable experiences offered at the Palácio d’Ouro. Upon entering the Paschoal Mine, visitors encounter, in an authentic way, the excavation techniques and the geology that guided gold exploration in the former Vila Rica.
The guided mediation explains the workings of the mining complex, connecting the physical space to the economic, social, and cultural context of the gold cycle. It is a profound immersion into the history of colonial mining, experienced exactly where it once took place.
Events
The Palácio d’Ouro hosts cultural, institutional, and social events in a unique historical setting, designed for those seeking sophistication, exclusivity, and identity.
Each event is handled in a personalized way, transforming the occasion into a unique and unforgettable experience, fully aligned with art, history, and heritage.
Photo Shoots
With its colonial architecture, gardens, and historic atmosphere, the Palácio d’Ouro offers a breathtaking setting for photoshoots. Pre-wedding sessions, maternity shoots, fashion editorials, and artistic or institutional projects gain aesthetic depth and identity when carried out within an 18th-century architectural complex, where every detail carries history and authenticity.
Exhibitions
The Palácio d’Ouro hosts exhibitions that engage with history, art, and heritage, connecting past and present through cultural experiences.
Our exhibitions occupy the Main House, the gardens, and specific areas of the complex, creating a sensory journey that integrates colonial architecture, historical collections, and contemporary artistic production.
Artistic and Cultural Workshops
The Palácio d’Ouro offers workshops that connect history, art, heritage, and creativity, fostering profound and meaningful experiences in one of the most inspiring settings in Ouro Preto. Our activities combine technical knowledge, artistic practices, and direct contact with the historical, artistic, and cultural heritage of the 18th and 19th centuries.
Café
The Palácio d’Ouro Café is a natural extension of the cultural experience offered by our Cultural Center, designed to welcome visitors into an elegant, cozy environment fully integrated with the 18th-century historical heritage.
More than a café, it is a place for pause and contemplation, where the flavors of Minas interact with the Palace’s unique atmosphere. Here, visitors can enjoy specialty beverages, traditional sweets, and the best cheese breads — all prepared with selected ingredients and the care that defines Minas Gerais hospitality.
